This Is the Turkey – By Abby Levine- This is a cute book. It has a great little sing songy pattern that the students enjoy. It tells about the turkey that gets dropped, but how it it the best Thanksgiving they have ever had.

Oh, What a Thanksgiving – By Steven Kroll- This book is great. A little boy is very disappointed with how boring his Thanksgiving is going to be. He keeps pretending that he is back with the Pilgrims at the first Thanksgiving. It is a great book that looks at Thanksgiving today and the first Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Is… – By Louise orden- This book is great. It compares how Thanksgiving today and the first Thanksgiving are really a lot alike. The students really liked being able to make connections with what the Native Americans did and what they do today.

It’s Thanksgiving – By Jack Prelutsky- This book isa cute little book with poems all about Thanksgiving. The students loved the rhyming, sing songy pattern it had.

The Night Before Thanksgiving – By Natasha Wing- This book is great. It has a brother and sister getting their house ready for family to come eat Thanksgiving dinner. What I did was read both stories. We did a double bubble map to compare and contrast them. My class had so much fun.

T’was the Night Before Thanksgiving – By Dav Pilkey- This book is great. It has a classroom of students going on a field trip to a farm. One student asks what the axe is for. After the farmer tells the students, they all crying. The teacher and farmer run to the well to get some water to make the students feel better. The students all get back on the bus. As the farmer waves at the bus, he notices all his turkeys are missing.
