Dingoes at Dinnertime – By Mary Pope Osbourne – This is another great adventure for Jack and Annie. The two must find the fourth gift that will break the spell of the dog. They go to Australia and see a kangaroo and a joey, a koala, and some dingoes. A magic snake in the cave makes the rain stop the wildfire that has broken out in the forest. The dog, Teddy, helps Jack and Annie find the joey’s mom. Once back to in Frog Creek, Pennsylvania Jack and Annie discover the dog was really a little boy who was being taught a lesson by Morgan le Fay.

Katie doesn’t realize that the king was her dad. She and her mother get to move back into the castle and love happily ever after.

Ghost Town at Sundown – By Mary Pope Osborne – In this story Jack and Annie must go to the Wild West to solve the second riddle. They are almost discovered by some horse thieves. A young mare is left behind, and Annie makes friends with mare. A horse rustler thinks Jack and Annie are the horse thieves, so they have to quickly explain the situation. Slim asks for their help in finding the other horses. The three go over the ridge and steal the horses back from the horse thieves. Jack and Annie talk Slim into becoming an author instead of rustling horses. Once back in Pennsylvania Jack and Annie discover that the book they had just read was written by that cowboy Slim.

Dolphins at Daybreak – By Mary Pope Osborne – This book begins with Jack and Annie having the same dream about the magic tree house being back. Their friend Morgan needs help. Her brother Merlin is making it difficult for Morgan to go back to Camelot for books. Morgan wants to make Jack and Annie master librarians. In order to become master librarians Jack and Annie must prove that they can do research. Morgan gives them four riddles them must solve. The first riddle sends them to the ocean where they are cornered by an octopus, chased by a shark, and aided by dolphins.

Midnight on the Moon – By Mary Pope Osborne – Annie wakes Jack up in the middle of the night telling him they need to go to the magic tree house. Once at the tree house they find that a moon book is open. Jack and Annie quickly wish themselves there, so they can find the fourth “M” thing to save their friend Morgan. Jack and Annie find some space suits to put on to search over the moon for an item that starts with “M”. After a long drive and several times falling over a moon man comes to their aid. Once back at the moon base Jack and Annie find that they really did not need to find another item their mouse friend was what they needed. Peanut the mouse was actually their friend Morgan who had been turned into a mouse by a trickster Merlin. Morgan helped Jack and Annie find their way back home to Frog Creek, Pennsylvania.

Sunset of the Sabertooth – By Mary Pope Osborne – I am amazed at how much information is packed into these little books. Jack and Annie are searching for items that begin with “M” to help find their friend Morgan. They discover that the place they need to go is always the book that is lying open. Jack and Annie travel to the “Ice Age” in their bathing suits and have to quickly find a warm place. They find a cave, but they soon discover that it is home to a bear. The second cave they find belongs to some Cro-Magnon people. Jack and Annie take two of the coats. Their mouse friend Peanut has run away. Jack and Annie go to find her and fall down into a trap for animals. A sorcerer helps them out of the hole, and sends them on their way back with a mammoth bone flute.

Afternoon on the Amazon – By Mary Pope Osborne – This book sends Jack and Annie into the rain forest looking for the second item that will help bring Morgan back. Annie run into a baby jaguar, some marching army ants, and a monkey. The monkey gives Jack and Annie a red fruit as the second item. Jack and Annie learn that the rain forest is not so scary if you just leave the animals alone.
