The Tent – 42

Sunday, October 30th, 2011

The Tent – By Gary Paulsen – I was drawn to this book because I love Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. I also liked that it had scripture at the beginning of each chapter, but it was not what I thought it would be. Steven and his dad, Corey, are tired of being poor. Corey decides to get a tent and be a preacher. The crowds are small to start with, but they continue to grow. It gets to a point that they have the money to buy whatever they want, but they are feeling guilty. Corey starts actually reading the bible and finds God. They continue on for the summer preaching, but now the money goes to charities instead of their pockets.
