Ghost Town at Sundown – By Mary Pope Osborne – In this story Jack and Annie must go to the Wild West to solve the second riddle. They are almost discovered by some horse thieves. A young mare is left behind, and Annie makes friends with mare. A horse rustler thinks Jack and Annie are the horse thieves, so they have to quickly explain the situation. Slim asks for their help in finding the other horses. The three go over the ridge and steal the horses back from the horse thieves. Jack and Annie talk Slim into becoming an author instead of rustling horses. Once back in Pennsylvania Jack and Annie discover that the book they had just read was written by that cowboy Slim.

Dolphins at Daybreak – By Mary Pope Osborne – This book begins with Jack and Annie having the same dream about the magic tree house being back. Their friend Morgan needs help. Her brother Merlin is making it difficult for Morgan to go back to Camelot for books. Morgan wants to make Jack and Annie master librarians. In order to become master librarians Jack and Annie must prove that they can do research. Morgan gives them four riddles them must solve. The first riddle sends them to the ocean where they are cornered by an octopus, chased by a shark, and aided by dolphins.

Midnight on the Moon – By Mary Pope Osborne – Annie wakes Jack up in the middle of the night telling him they need to go to the magic tree house. Once at the tree house they find that a moon book is open. Jack and Annie quickly wish themselves there, so they can find the fourth “M” thing to save their friend Morgan. Jack and Annie find some space suits to put on to search over the moon for an item that starts with “M”. After a long drive and several times falling over a moon man comes to their aid. Once back at the moon base Jack and Annie find that they really did not need to find another item their mouse friend was what they needed. Peanut the mouse was actually their friend Morgan who had been turned into a mouse by a trickster Merlin. Morgan helped Jack and Annie find their way back home to Frog Creek, Pennsylvania.

Sunset of the Sabertooth – By Mary Pope Osborne – I am amazed at how much information is packed into these little books. Jack and Annie are searching for items that begin with “M” to help find their friend Morgan. They discover that the place they need to go is always the book that is lying open. Jack and Annie travel to the “Ice Age” in their bathing suits and have to quickly find a warm place. They find a cave, but they soon discover that it is home to a bear. The second cave they find belongs to some Cro-Magnon people. Jack and Annie take two of the coats. Their mouse friend Peanut has run away. Jack and Annie go to find her and fall down into a trap for animals. A sorcerer helps them out of the hole, and sends them on their way back with a mammoth bone flute.

Afternoon on the Amazon – By Mary Pope Osborne – This book sends Jack and Annie into the rain forest looking for the second item that will help bring Morgan back. Annie run into a baby jaguar, some marching army ants, and a monkey. The monkey gives Jack and Annie a red fruit as the second item. Jack and Annie learn that the rain forest is not so scary if you just leave the animals alone.

Night of the Ninjas – By Mary Pope Osborne – This book has Jack and Annie on an adventure in the dark of night. They are captured by two ninjas. The ninjas take them to the ninja master. The ninja master gives Jack and Annie three things that will help them get back to their tree house safely. 1.Use nature. 2. Be nature. 3. Follow nature. By doing these three things Jack an Annie make it back to their tree house and are given a moonstone that is one of the four things they need to find in order to help Morgan.

Pirates Past Noon – 4

Pirates Past Noon– By Mary Pope Osborne – Once again Jack and Annie want to go on an adventure. What they really want to figure out is who this mysterious “M” person is that lost the bookmark and medallion. It is cold and rainy outside the magic tree house, so Annie wishes to go inside a book that is at the beach. Once at the beach Anne sees a pirate ship approaching the shore. In his hurry to get away Jack leaves the book. The pirates capture him while he is trying to retrieve the book. The pirates want the gold they think the children have. Captain Bones makes Jack read the map, but it doesn’t make any sense. The map says the treasure is buried under the eye of the whale. Captain Bones decides to take Jack an Annie back out into the ocean aboard the ship. While inside the ship Jack discovers that the island is shaped like a whale. Captain Bones is glad to take Jack and Annie back to the island. Captain Bones makes his men dig for the treasure. A parrot starts squawking about turning back because of the storm. The pirates run back to their row boat leaving Jack and Annie to climb back up into the magic tree house. The parrot somehow came back with them. The parrot turns into Morgan the enchantress. She is King Arthur’s sister. She is also a librarian. So Jack and Annie learned who the mysterious “M” person.

Mummies in the Morning– By Mary Pope Osborne – Jack and Annie think they hear voices a the magic tree house. Jack sees a book about ancient Egypt that he wants to go visit. Once inside the Egyptian picture Annie decides to follow this cat she sees. They go into a tomb. The mummy or something keeps making noises. Jack and Annie decide that the mummy wants their help in solving a mystery. Once the mystery is solved Jack and Annie follow the same cat back out of the tomb, and they head back home.

The Knight at Dawn – By Mary Pope Osborne – This is going to be a great series. Jack and Annie snuck out early in the morning to go see if the magic person was in the magic tree house. No one was there, but the two went on another quick adventure. Annie wanted to go to the castle. So she pointed to the picture and made the wish. Once at the castle Jack and Annie saw a knight in shiny armor going over the draw bridge. Annie quickly followed the knight into the castle> by looking through the book Jack was able to help find a way to sneak back out of the castle without being seen. The only problem was the secret exit was out into the moat. So Jack and Annie swam to shore. The knight put both Jack and Annie on his horse and took them back to the magic tree house.

Dinosaurs Before Dark – By Mary Pope Osbourne – This was a cute little book. Brother and Sister discover a tree house in the woods near their house. Jack and Annie decide to go up and have a look inside. The two are looking through some books. Jack wishes that he could see a real life Pteranodon. After this wish Jack and Annie find themselves back in prehistoric times with the dinosaurs. After escaping from the Tyrannosaurus Rex they climb back up to the tree house and wish that they were at home.
