The Mystery of the Spiral Bridge – By Franklin W. Dixon – This time Mr. Hardy is flown back into town and taken immediately to the local hospital. He is unable to communicate with anyone. Joe and Frank decide they are going to find out who injured their dad and solve the case he was working on. The boys get three of their friends to help them out. All five boys get jobs working on a bridge that is having problems being built. The boys discover that several ex-cons are working together to hold up the bridge building. The boys help capture the ex-cons and solve the case for their father.

The Secret Panel – By Franklin W. Dixon – This book is many cases all in one. The boys are almost ran off the road by Mr. John Mead. He asks them to go check his ouse to make sure he turned off a light. He gives them an interesting key. The boys check with their father before going to the gentleman’s house. Their father is working on a case involving some museum robberies. The Hardy Boys’ friend Chet buys a sinking boat that also finds its way into the cases. The father has a visitor in the middle of the night that is upset that her son has been shot, but she does nt know where he is. She wants the Hardy detectives to find her son. Joe and Frank finally get to visit the strange man’s house, but they fail to get in because of the interesting doors. The boys find out from the local sheriff that this John Mead died several years ago. This intrigues the Hardy Boys interest even more. The boys wind up getting into the house, help their friend get his money back, find the lady’s son, and help their father solve his case as well.

The Viking Symbol Mystery – By Franklin W. Dixon – The book was two cases that got wrapped up with one gang getting caught. Mr. Hardy got some of the boys friends to go work on one case while the Hardy Boys and Chet went to work on a second case. The two groups wound up working on the same case.

This book tells about the depression from the view point of a young 11 year old girl. Her cousin comes to live with them that has never seen a toilet or hear of Buck Rodgers. The family does lots of things to save money. They close off some of the other rooms for heat. The kids all pass their clothes down to the younger ones. Minnie gets very worried when her father leaves without telling anyone. Momma and Ozzie sell some things and hire a private detective. I want you to read the book to discover for yourself if they get to have Christmas After All.

The Phantom Freighter – By Franklin W. Dixon – This book really has several things going on at one time. Mr. Hardy is on a case about some stolen motors. The Hardy Boys are trying to get passage on a freighter boat for them and a new friend. Their Aunt Gertrude has a valuable box of papers stolen. All this going on and the Hardy Boys are of course right there in the middle of things. It turns out that all the cases are linked to one man sailing his freighter boat. Another great Hardy Boy book.

The Secret of Skull Mountain – 22

The Secret of Skull Mountain – By Franklin W. Dixon – This book rates up there with one of the best Hardy Boy books. Frank and Joe are going to help the town engineer figure out why the water is not holding down behind the dam. They are in for more than they bargain for, but as always they solve the mystery and hep the town have a water supply.
