Bud, not Buddy – Christopher Paul Curtis – This book is about a young man whose mother passed away, and he is headed out to find his dad. He thinks this man is his dad until he meets him, and he is quite old. He is a family member, but the man and Bud are very surprised at what they found out about each other.

  4. I like this book so far. I liked the part were Tod sticks the pencil up Bud’s nose. That is so funny.

  5. Bud not buddy is like a mystery. I can’t believe Bud thought that Lefty Lewis was a vampire. He also was using southern language. He used mostly ya’ll it means you people or guys. I know that we are looking for southern words they used in this book is great. Hope you the best of WISHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. thank you

  6. I love this book Mrs.Thomas is so nice to Bud.I think that Herman E. Callaway is Bud’s dad. Oh Mr. Jimmy is very nice too. It was really mean when Tod stuck the pencil up Bud’s nose.

  8. I think that Mrs. Thomas is Bud’s real mom, but I don’t know. The mom that told him that Herman E.Callaway is his dad. I think it is not really his mom. Mrs. Thomas is his mom I think so.

  13. I did not think that Herman was Bud’s grandfather. I thought he was his dad. It’s was so nice when Mrs. Thomas cleaned Bud’s clothes for him. I loved this book thank you for letting us read it.
